Los Angeles, April 9 (NationPress) Hollywood actor Kevin Bacon is reflecting on a memorable scene from one of his films where he stood still and unexpectedly dozed off.
The versatile actor, now 66, made an appearance on ‘The Drew Barrymore Show’ to promote his forthcoming Amazon Prime Video series ‘The Bondsman’, and shared the amusing incident, according to ‘People’ magazine.
Drew Barrymore, aged 50, presented a special video message for Bacon from his co-star in ‘She's Having a Baby’, Elizabeth McGovern. This film, released in 1988, was directed by the renowned John Hughes.
In the video, McGovern, now 63, reminisces about the meticulousness of the Planes, Trains and Automobiles director, stating that the wedding scene took so long to shoot that she fell asleep while standing.
“One of my fondest memories of She's Having a Baby was during the wedding scene, which John Hughes, being the artistic genius he was, took such an extensive time to film that by the moment Jake expressed his wedding vows to Kristy, she was fully asleep in her wedding gown,” McGovern described their characters.
Bacon elaborated on McGovern's story, saying, “I think if we checked in on those two today, they'd still be married. Kevin, I truly loved working with you on that. I believe we filmed that scene for 24 hours.” He humorously added, “And she’s not joking; it’s the only instance in my life I’ve ever dozed off while standing, just like a horse.”
Barrymore then discussed Bacon's upcoming series, ‘The Bondsman’, which is an action-horror show.
“It presents a fantastic setting. It has a wonderful texture. It's funny, it's packed with action, and it encompasses everything you do all in one,” she remarked about the series. “It’s a blend of numerous elements, coupled with music, gore, horror, and family dynamics,” Bacon responded. “I thoroughly enjoyed making it with an incredible cast.”
