Mumbai, Nov 17 (NationPress) Kriti Sanon has shared her deep admiration for filmmaker Anand L. Rai, revealing the reasons behind her persistent desire to collaborate with him over the years.
During the trailer launch of her upcoming film “Tere Ishq Mein,” Kriti expressed her long-held aspiration to be part of a romantic narrative directed by Anand—a dream that has lingered on her wishlist. The ‘Heropanti’ star mentioned, “This journey actually began many years ago. I have met Anand sir numerous times, and I pursued him for years, saying, ‘Sir, I want to do a love story directed by you.’ It has always been on my wishlist. I adore love stories, and I can’t quite explain why.”
“Love seems to be diminishing in the world. Why are love stories becoming less frequent? It’s my favorite genre, and I’ve always had a yearning to work with someone like him—who can touch the soul and whose love stories reflect the complexities of real life. They’re layered, filled with love, pain, and passion. Finally, I got the opportunity to portray Mukti,” Sanon elaborated.
Kriti also discussed her acting methodology, stating that she is usually well-prepared for her roles. The ‘Do Patti’ actress remarked, “I am a diligent actor, the type who completes her homework and arrives fully prepared. However, this time, I thought, ‘It’s Anand sir; let’s try a different approach. Let’s not prepare and instead surrender to the process.’ Gradually, during filming, I discovered Mukti alongside him, which was a unique experience for me.”
She explained further, “I have never taken such an unprepared approach, like a blank slate, uncovering every nuance during the shoot. Mukti evolves significantly throughout the film, showcasing almost two distinct characters. The depth and layers of this role are a dream for any actor. I hope everyone loves her and enjoys the film.”
“Tere Ishk Mein,” directed by Anand L Rai, also features Dhanush in a leading role and is scheduled for release on November 28, 2025.
