How Has Fatherhood Influenced Kunal Kemmu's Role in 'Single Papa'?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Mumbai, Dec 6 (NationPress) Actor Kunal Kemmu, who is preparing for the launch of his new streaming series 'Single Papa', revealed how becoming a father has influenced his portrayal of the character in the show.
In an interview with IANS during the promotional activities for the series, Kemmu mentioned that his experiences as a father provided him with a unique perspective for his role. He stated, “As a dad, I have an advantage. Without being one, I would have had to rely on others' experiences to envision what that feels like. Instead, I could draw on my own memories, like the feeling of holding a baby for the first time.”
Married to Soha Ali Khan, the couple shares a daughter named Inaaya.
Kemmu further elaborated that the show's writing reflects the real-life experiences of its creators, Sheetha and Neeraj, who are also a married couple. He noted, “When I spoke to them, I thought, 'These moments are so beautiful.' They mentioned that they conceived the idea for this show long before writing it, but they only put pen to paper a year and a half after becoming parents, providing them with a fresh viewpoint.”
He added, “The team involved in this project, including director Shashank, are all parents. Their individual experiences contributed to the storytelling process, which I hope resonates with families watching together.”
Produced by Aditya Pittie and Samar Khan under the Juggernaut Productions banner, this series is set to stream on Netflix starting December 12, 2025.
