Mumbai, Dec 26 (NationPress) Actor-producer Lakshmi Manchu has shared her most cherished moments from the early years of the 21st century.

In an interview with IANS, she expressed that nothing compares to the profound experience of becoming a mother. “Nothing, absolutely nothing, comes close. Motherhood recalibrated my definition of success, strength, and purpose. It grounded me in ways no award or applause ever could.”

She also discussed her newfound passion for producing meaningful content.

“Finding my voice beyond acting, hosting conversations, creating impactful content, and establishing platforms where stories matter marked a turning point for me. Whether through YouTube, Instagram, movies, or OTT, I stopped seeking validation and began embracing my own narrative.”

Another significant moment for her was witnessing the growth of her NGO, which brought her immense joy.

“Watching classrooms come alive and seeing children gain confidence through education has been my greatest joy. Impact outlives fame, and that realization changed me forever.”

She acknowledged the challenge of stepping outside her comfort zone. “Whether it was accepting unconventional roles, speaking out during uncomfortable situations, or standing firm in tough times, every act of courage led me to freedom.”

Furthermore, Lakshmi shared how her international experiences allowed her to remain true to her Indian roots. “Working globally while staying deeply connected to my Indian identity has been fulfilling. It reaffirmed that our stories, culture, and voices belong on the world stage.”

Reflecting on her entry into the entertainment industry, she noted, “I began this journey at a time when legacy overshadowed individuality, and access was limited. Today, talent, persistence, and authenticity matter more than lineage, and this transformation is significant.”

The industry has evolved beyond traditional cinema into digital platforms, OTT, and global collaborations, democratizing storytelling. “As a woman, this evolution has been liberating. I no longer have to conform; I can create my own path.”

“Personally, I’ve learned that longevity isn’t about remaining relevant at any cost; it’s about being REAL. In the past, success was measured by visibility; today, I gauge it by the alignment between who I am, what I stand for, and the work I pursue,” she concluded.

Summarizing her journey over the last 25 years, she stated, “The 21st century has taught me that reinvention isn’t betrayal; it’s growth. If the first quarter was about finding my footing, the next chapters will focus on walking with clarity, confidence, and compassion.”
