New Delhi, Dec 26 (NationPress) Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta announced on Friday that the Winter Session of the Assembly is scheduled to take place from January 5 to 8. Preparations are in full swing to ensure the session operates smoothly and in a well-ordered manner.
At a press briefing held at the Assembly Secretariat, Gupta disclosed that the Fourth Session (Winter Session) of the Eighth Legislative Assembly of the National Capital Territory of Delhi will commence with an address from Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena.
Previously, the L-G had issued a summoning order for this Session.
In the order, the L-G stated: "In exercise of the powers conferred upon me by Section 6(1) of the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi Act, 1991 (Central Act No. 1 of 1992), I hereby summon the Fourth Session (Winter Session) of the Eighth Legislative Assembly of the National Capital Territory of Delhi to meet at the Assembly Hall, Old Secretariat, Delhi-110054, on Monday, January 5, 2026, at 2.00 p.m."
While updating the media about the forthcoming Assembly session, Speaker Gupta emphasized that the Secretariat is working to ensure that the four-day session is conducted in a disciplined and organized manner, allowing the House to efficiently address its legislative and procedural agenda.
He also mentioned that several significant documents are set to be presented before the House during this session, with all necessary arrangements already in place.
Gupta, alongside Acharya Lokesh, unveiled details regarding a major cultural and spiritual event planned for next month in Delhi.
Acharya Lokesh, a noted Jain saint and the founder of Ahimsa Vishwa Bharati, revealed that from January 17 to 25, a nine-day Ram Katha will be held at the Multi-purpose Hall, Bharat Mandapam, under the auspices of a World Peace Mission. This event will feature internationally acclaimed Ram Katha exponent Pujya Morari Bapu delivering the discourse.
Acharya Lokesh conveyed that this Ram Katha is organized by Ahimsa Vishwa Bharati, an institution committed to promoting peace, dialogue, non-violence, and social harmony.
He expressed appreciation that former President Ram Nath Kovind has accepted the role of Chairperson of the Organizing Committee, while the Speaker of the Delhi Legislative Assembly will serve as the Chief Patron of this notable event.
Acharya Lokesh anticipated significant participation from devotees across India and various countries, including the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Singapore, and the United Arab Emirates.
