Key Takeaways
Los Angeles, March 30 (NationPress) Lisa, a member of the renowned K-Pop girl group Blackpink, is preparing to launch her inaugural Las Vegas residency titled ‘Viva La Lisa’. This exciting event will take place at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace over two weekends: November 13-14 and November 27-28.
This announcement positions Lisa as the first K-Pop artist to host a Las Vegas residency, according to reports from Variety.
The residency follows the success of Lisa's debut solo album, ‘Alter Ego’, released last year, alongside a Blackpink tour and a new EP, ‘Deadline’, which just came out last month.
As reported by Variety, Lisa, who appeared in the acclaimed HBO series “Black Lotus,”, is also the focus of a documentary revealed last year. This film chronicles a year in the life of the singer and actress, highlighting her and her Blackpink bandmates as they embark on individual projects.
The documentary is directed by Sue Kim, known for her work on the award-winning A24 documentary ‘The Last of the Sea Women’.
Lisa, a Thai rapper, singer, and dancer, made history as the first non-Korean artist to join YG Entertainment. After successfully passing a YG audition in Thailand in 2010, she trained for around five years. Within Blackpink, she excels as the main dancer, lead rapper, and sub-vocalist. The group debuted on August 8, 2016, with their single album Square One.
She launched her solo career on September 10, 2021, with the single album ‘Lalisa’. The lead track, along with the B-side ‘Money’, achieved remarkable international success, with ‘Money’ becoming the first song by a K-Pop solo artist to break into the top 10 on the Billboard Global 200 chart. Additionally, she has set numerous records on YouTube for the most music video views within the first 24 hours.
