Los Angeles, January 11 (NationPress) Hollywood star Lucy Liu has revealed her deep embarrassment when it came to admitting to C. Thomas Howell that she harbored a crush on him during her teenage years.

The 57-year-old actress fell for the actor while watching the 1983 crime-thriller film, ‘The Outsiders’, at just 16 years old. She even had a picture of him displayed on her wall, as reported by Female First UK.

In a conversation with W Magazine, Lucy was asked about her first “cinematic crush,” responding, “C. Thomas Howell in ‘The Outsiders’. I managed to buy one of those teen magazines and taped it to my wood-paneled wall. He had that quintessential ’80s look, with his hair slicked back and his hand casually placed in his jeans pocket.”

The film ‘The Outsiders’ depicted the fierce rivalry between two teenage gangs: the greasers, including brothers Ponyboy Curtis, Darrel Curtis, and Sodapop Curtis, along with their friends, and the affluent Socs (Socials).

According to Female First UK, in 2012, Lucy ironically collaborated with C. Thomas, now 59, in the fourth season of the TNT crime drama, Southland, which showcased the lives of Los Angeles Police Department officers as they navigated crime in the city while also dealing with personal challenges. Despite their professional relationship, Lucy refrained from revealing her youthful admiration for him.

She admitted, “I never told him about my crush, as I was too embarrassed. We were busy playing tough cops.”

Though Lucy has never tied the knot, she was once engaged to Zach Helm, a 50-year-old film director, in 2004, two years after their initial meeting at a Hollywood event. Their engagement was short-lived, concluding a few months later. Lucy has had her share of high-profile romantic relationships.
