Chennai, Mar 10 (NationPress) Lydian Nadhaswaram, renowned for dazzling audiences worldwide by winning the CBS talent show, The World's Best, in 2019, and the esteemed student of music maestro Ilaiyaraaja, has officially announced his inaugural symphony titled ‘New Beginnings’.
This announcement coincided with a historic moment when Ilaiyaraaja became the first Indian to present a western classical symphony at the Eventim Apollo theatre in London on March 8.
On his X timeline, Lydian expressed, “My heartfelt wishes to our one and only Maestro Isaignani Ilaiyaraaja uncle for his Symphony No.1 – Valiant. I am deeply thankful for his blessings and encouragement from the very beginning, which have motivated me to create my first symphony, New Beginnings.”
He shared a video clip alongside his post, stating, “India's pride and one of the greatest composers of all time, Maestro Isaignani Ilaiyaraaja sir's first symphony, Symphony No.1 Valiant, was released yesterday and performed with the London Philharmonic orchestra. I am thrilled and eagerly anticipate listening to the entire symphony.
“During my visits to his studio for music discussions, Raja sir has imparted numerous insights about music and often spoke of symphonies. He has continually encouraged me, saying, ‘You too will create a symphony.’ Therefore, it is his encouragement that has led me to present my first symphony - Symphony Number 1, New Beginnings, with four movements. This is all possible because of his blessings. I hope he composes many more symphonies and brings us exceptional music for years to come,” he added.
Originating from Chennai, Lydian was merely 17 years old when he participated in The World's Best on CBS in 2019, emerging victorious and securing a grand prize of one million dollars.
This young prodigy, adept at playing 14 musical instruments, including the drums, tabla, and guitar, is especially celebrated for his astonishing piano skills.
