Madhavan took to X to share this memorable moment, which occurred shortly after the successful release of the blockbuster “Uri: The Surgical Strike,” when PM Modi visited Mumbai for an event attended by numerous film industry members.
He wrote: “#MYMODISTORY I had the privilege of experiencing Modi ji’s exceptional attentiveness while preparing for my movie Rocketry. This was right after Uri had been a colossal hit.”
“PM Modi was in Mumbai for an event where many from the film industry were present. Everyone was eager to meet him and take photos. I was there too — but in character.”
Madhavan explained that he was fully transformed into the esteemed scientist Nambi Narayan, whom he portrays in the lead role.
“With a large beard and complete makeup, I sincerely doubted whether Modi ji would even recognize me. To my utter astonishment, as soon as he spotted me, he exclaimed, ‘Madhavan ji, you resemble Nambi Narayan. Has the shooting of the film begun?’ I was taken aback.”
“Here was the Prime Minister of India, shouldering the weight of the nation and the world, yet he not only recognized me instantly but also remembered precisely what I was working on, despite my vastly different appearance.”
Madhavan reminisced that it was the very first time he took a “selfie” with the iconic leader.
“Coincidentally, we both had similar beards at that moment. It remains one of my most treasured memories — it demonstrated to me that @NarendraModi ji is not just a visionary leader but also a human who notices, remembers, and values individuals on a personal level.”
“On your 75th birthday, I wish you the happiest birthday ever and pray for a remarkable and healthy year ahead for you. @narendramodi.
