Mumbai, Nov 21 (NationPress) Actress Madhuri Dixit is gearing up for her much-anticipated return to the silver screen in a strikingly raw portrayal in her forthcoming project, "Mrs. Deshpande".

With a release date set for December 19, the creators have unveiled an intriguing teaser directed by Nagesh Kukunoor.

The teaser immerses us into the narrative of "Mrs. Deshpande", showcasing Madhuri in a distinctly de-glam look. In a captivating scene, she is seen quietly chopping vegetables while softly humming the 'Bholi Si Surat' melody from her iconic film "Dil To Pagal Hai", as a radio bulletin reports on a serial killer at large.

Produced by Applause Entertainment in collaboration with Kukunoor Movies, this series is the Hindi adaptation of the French thriller "La Mante".

Joining Madhuri in pivotal roles are Siddharth Chandekar and Priyanshu Chatterjee.

Discussing the series, director Nagesh Kukunoor expressed, "Mrs. Deshpande has been an incredibly fascinating and enjoyable experience for me. As I developed the script, I envisioned only Madhuri for the title role, and having her embody this complex character has been an absolute delight."

Madhuri herself remarked that "Mrs. Deshpande" is a departure from her previous work.
