New Delhi, Nov 21 (NationPress) A delegation of 40 members from the Brazilian Naval War College held discussions regarding bilateral maritime training cooperation with officials from the Indian Navy during their visit to New Delhi, as stated by an official on Friday.

This visit is part of the Indian Navy’s efforts to engage with key maritime nations.

The Brazilian delegation from the Escola de Guerra Naval (Naval War College) in Rio de Janeiro received insights on India’s Strategic Imperatives from a joint team representing the Headquarters, Integrated Defence Staff, and the Indian Navy, according to the official's statement.

“The delegation was led by RAdm Gustavo Leite Cypriano Neves, Commandant of EGN, who met with RAdm Sachin Sequeira, ACOP (HRD). The talks concentrated on enhancing bilateral training cooperation in the maritime domain,” a Navy spokesperson shared via X.

The Brazilian team was hosted at the Naval Headquarters from November 17-19 and also visited significant sites such as the National War Memorial, the Information Fusion Centre – Indian Ocean Region, and the National Defence College, as noted by the official.

This visit highlights the robust cooperation between the Indian and Brazilian Armed Forces, the official remarked.

This visit followed closely after Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi’s trip to the US.

During his official visit to the US, the Navy chief attended the National Defence University (NDU) at Washington's Fort Lesley J McNair, engaging in discussions with NDU President Vice Admiral Peter A Garvin on ways to strengthen defence ties between India and the US.

Admiral Tripathi also interacted with Indian officers assigned for education at the Eisenhower School, National War College (NWC), and the College of Information and Cyberspace (CICA).

“During his official visit to the US, Adm Dinesh K Tripathi, CNS, visited NDU at Fort Lesley J McNair and engaged with President NDU, VAdm Peter A Garvin. The discussions targeted professional military education, enhancing connections with higher learning institutions between the two defence forces, training exchanges for international fellows and military professors, and shared maritime interests to fortify India–US defence relations,” the Indian Navy disclosed on X.

“CNS also interacted with Indian officers assigned for education at the Eisenhower School, NWC, and CICA during the visit,” the statement concluded.
