Chennai, June 24 (NationPress) The creators of the much-anticipated action spectacle, ‘Coolie’, directed by Lokesh Kanakaraj and starring superstar Rajinikanth, have unveiled an exciting promo for the music video 'Chikitu', which is set to premiere on Wednesday.
On its X timeline, Sun Pictures, the studio behind the film, shared, "Are you prepared for the Chikitu treat? #GetChikitufied! The Chikitu Music Video will be available tomorrow at 6 PM. #Coolie will release globally on August 14th!"
A brief video clip was also shared, showcasing Rajinikanth enjoying the vibrant percussion rhythms of the track.
The 'Chikitu' music video will be available in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi.
Besides the music video, the film itself has generated immense anticipation.
It’s worth noting that director Lokesh Kanakaraj completed filming this highly awaited action entertainer last month and mentioned that he would always treasure the incredible journey of creating this film.
'Coolie', projected to be an action thriller, will not only star Rajinikanth but also feature a host of prominent actors including Telugu star Nagarjuna, Kannada star Upendra, Malayalam star Soubin Shahir, and Tamil star Sathyaraj. Notably, Bollywood star Aamir Khan will make a cameo appearance in the film.
The cast also includes Shruti Haasan, Rebe Monica John, and Junior MGR in key roles.
Music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, while cinematography is handled by Girish Gangadharan. The film is edited by Philomin Raj and produced by Kalanithi Maran's Sun Pictures.
The film is particularly awaited as it marks the reunion of Sathyaraj and Rajinikanth after nearly 38 years. The last time they shared the screen was in the blockbuster 'Mr Bharath', released in 1986, where Sathyaraj portrayed Rajinikanth's father. Interestingly, Sathyaraj had previously declined roles in several of Rajinikanth's earlier films like 'Enthiran' and 'Sivaji'.
'Coolie', marking Rajinikanth's 171st film, will revolve around the theme of gold smuggling. Interestingly, Lokesh Kanakaraj has stated that 'Coolie' is a standalone film and not part of his Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU).
