Mumbai, March 26 (NationPress) Malaika Arora has conveyed her enthusiasm to collaborate once more with Shah Rukh Khan for upcoming projects, especially after their legendary track “Chaiyya Chaiyya” released in 1998.

This song, which achieved immense popularity, initiated their on-screen chemistry and is still regarded as one of the most unforgettable dance routines in Bollywood's history. In a recent conversation with us, Malaika expressed her eagerness about the possibility of joining forces with SRK again, stating to IANS, “If it happens, it will happen. I’m always open to it.”

Chaiyya Chaiyya,” an Indian pop-folk masterpiece, was part of the film “Dil Se.” The track, crafted by Bulleh Shah, features music from the iconic A.R. Rahman, and lyrics by the esteemed Gulzar, ensuring its place as a timeless classic in Indian cinema. Sung by Sukhwinder Singh and Sapna Awasthi, the song was filmed on top of a moving train with Shah Rukh and Malaika performing.

Malaika also shared her perspective on the transformation of Bollywood songs over the years. Discussing the enduring chemistry she has with Shah Rukh Khan in popular tracks like “Chaiyya Chaiyya,” “Kaal Kaal,” and “Gare Damaal,” she recognized the shifting landscape of the music industry and how it affects the attention these timeless songs receive today.

“I believe that while numerous songs become exceedingly popular and may even eclipse the films they belong to, many contemporary songs are being created with social media in focus. The aim is to produce tracks that will go viral, particularly through platforms like Instagram reels. It’s a trend. However, I still think there are songs that achieve significant popularity, regardless of their impact on the film. It’s a mixed bag, but sometimes the song itself takes precedence over the movie,” the actress elaborated.

In the meantime, Arora is set to judge the reality show “Hip Hop Season 2” alongside Remo D'Souza.
