Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Mumbai, March 24 (NationPress) In a revealing interview with IANS, renowned actor and fitness advocate Milind Soman shared his insights into the increasing trend of individuals seeking to relocate from Mumbai for a more spacious, green, and tranquil environment.
He emphasized this evolving perspective by stating, “Many individuals express a desire for their own garden, trees, and ample space, which prompts them to leave the city.”
“Indeed, numerous people are exiting the metropolis, whenever possible. They are purchasing land and starting their own farms,” he remarked.
However, Milind also recognized that despite its shortcomings, Mumbai continues to attract many residents. “There are those who thrive on the vibrancy of Mumbai—its hustle, excitement, and abundant energy,” he noted.
Reflecting on the city’s transformation over the decades, he shared, “I've seen images of Mumbai from the 1800s when it was merely a village, with no bridges—only islands. Change is constant, and it has certainly occurred here.”
Discussing his personal ties to the city, he mentioned, “Shivaji Park in Dadar, where I grew up, isn’t the same anymore, yet the park remains a remarkable place.”
Milind pointed out the most significant alteration in Mumbai is the increase in traffic. “The traffic has surged, which I believe is the greatest transformation. People are acquiring more cars daily, escalating from one to three, four, or even five,” he said.
He described this phenomenon as an unavoidable aspect of progress, explaining, “That’s just how development unfolds; you cannot hinder individuals from purchasing cars and constructing homes… that’s their aspiration.”
He credited the rise of digital connectivity, stating, “Thanks to the internet and the virtual ecosystem, people can now work from remote locations… this presents a tremendous opportunity.”
Milind, who recently celebrated his 60th birthday, has been a lifelong resident of Mumbai, particularly in Dadar.
Having spent over thirty years in the entertainment sector, he gained fame as a supermodel during the 90s.
Currently, he is eagerly anticipating his new project Kaattaan, which stars South Indian actor Vijay Sethupathi. The show is scheduled to premiere on March 27 on Jio Hotstar.
