Mumbai, June 19 (NationPress) Director Mohit Suri, known for his acclaimed romantic films like Aashiqui 2, Awarapan, Ek Villain, and Malang, shared insights on the essence of a compelling love story. He emphasizes that an exceptional love tale cannot exist if “everything’s hunky dory between a boy and a girl.”
“For a love story to resonate, there must be elements of heartbreak and pain. It needs to reach into your heart and speak to your soul,” he explained.
According to Suri, a powerful love story should connect with the audience on a profound emotional level, which is achievable only when the narrative feels authentic.
With his upcoming film ‘Saiyaara’, Suri aims to craft a narrative that embodies this principle.
“This love story carries a significant amount of sincerity, and I hope viewers share this sentiment when they watch Saiyaara in theaters from July 18. It’s one of the most cherished love stories I’ve directed in my two-decade-long career,” he stated.
The director expressed that the film holds a special place in his heart due to the romantic journey experienced by the young protagonists.
“The trajectory of their relationship is both innocent and intricate, which drew me to tell their story. The characters, Ahaan and Aneet, portray a love that defies convention,” he elaborated.
“In the film, these characters are navigating their personal lives while tackling various challenges. They come from different backgrounds with distinct values, facing their own trials. Individually flawed, together they strive for perfection!”
Suri continued, “That’s the narrative I wish to present as a director, and I hope it’s the kind of love story that audiences are eager to witness.”
He revealed his desire to depict “imperfect individuals who find completeness in each other.”
“Flawed characters create profound and relatable love stories. Such romances feel genuine, and I find myself rooting for them. Saiyaara is a romantic journey that I hope resonates with viewers, evoking memories of their own love stories,” he concluded.
The film features debutant Ahaan Panday alongside actress Aneet Padda. “Saiyaara” is produced by YRF’s CEO Akshaye Widhani and is set for release on July 18.
