Mumbai, July 16 (NationPress) Director Mohit Suri, renowned for his works such as ‘Aashiqui 2’, ‘Awarapan’, and ‘Ek Villain’, has disclosed a crucial guideline he adopted two decades ago and continues to uphold today.
In a conversation with IANS on Wednesday, Mohit revealed that he consistently visits the office of music composer Mithoon instead of inviting him over to his own place.
The artistic duo has been collaborating for 20 years, with their journey commencing with ‘Woh Lamhe’.
Discussing how their creative relationship has matured over the years and its influence on the song ‘Dhun’ from the upcoming film ‘Saiyaara’, he shared, “It feels like just yesterday when I first met him at MHADA. Even now, each time I head to his studio, I hold the same principle that I will always go to his office to jam together.”
When asked about the reasoning behind this rule, Mohit explained, “I feel that place holds a certain sanctity. It’s as if something magical happens there. We have created remarkable work in that space. Even I find myself surprised by what we achieve there. His studio is located in a flat at MHADA, where I feel disconnected from the outside world, allowing us to focus solely on music and storytelling.”
Previously, Mohit referred to ‘Saiyaara’ as a tribute to the romantic tales he has cherished growing up. While all his previous films were produced under the Vishesh Films banner, with ‘Saiyaara’, Mohit ventures into the realm of Yash Raj Films, marking their first collaboration.
Produced by YRF, ‘Saiyaara’ is anticipated to hit theaters on July 18, 2025.
