Mumbai, Sep 4 (NationPress) Composer Nadeem Saifi disclosed that T-series founder Gulshan Kumar presented him with a Maruti Suzuki in celebration of the triumph of 'Aashiqui'.
In an exclusive interview with IANS, Nadeem was inquired, "What car did Gulshan Kumar gift you post the success of 'Aashiqui'?"
Nadeem responded, "He gifted me a white Maruti Suzuki, if my memory serves me right."
He also recounted a similar anecdote involving Subhash Ghai during the production of 'Pardes'.
Nadeem admitted that he insisted on receiving a car from Ghai even before delivering the songs.
He told Ghai, "I won’t share the songs until you book the car first."
Ghai questioned, "What do you mean?" to which Nadeem replied, "Sir, I am about to give you the best song of your life, so first book the car," the composer recounted.
Ghai promptly contacted someone to arrange two cars.
When Ghai requested Nadeem to play the song, Nadeem asked for a summary of the film's narrative, after which he composed three songs tailored to the film's context.
Suddenly, Ghai embraced him and exclaimed, "No one can even come close to you for the next 50 years. I require 20 sessions to create one song, and you produced three songs instantly. How did you manage that?"
During their discussion, Nadeem also reminisced about the moment he urged the makers of 'Saajan' to increase the number of cassette machines, anticipating that the film's music would be a monumental success.
He stated, "Ratan Ji and Ganesh Ji met me at the entrance of a studio, and I informed them -- 'Only one month remains until the release of 'Saajan', I suggest you increase the number of machines.'"
They chuckled and replied, "Do you believe it will match 'Aashiqui'?"
Nadeem confidently responded, "It may even surpass it; just increase the number of cassette machines."
Later, after the release of 'Saajan', when Nadeem encountered them again, they acknowledged that he was right about expanding the cassette machines.
