Mumbai, Oct 8 (NationPress) Renowned actress Neena Gupta candidly discussed the challenges that actors encounter as they age. She pointed out that numerous projects fail to provide roles that are appropriate for their age.
During her talk at FICCI Frames 2025, she reminisced about a time in her career when she received a variety of intriguing roles tailored to her age. Neena expressed her enjoyment in working on these projects and the excitement they brought her. Yet, she became aware that some films she had committed to never came to fruition.
The ‘Badhaai Ho’ star remarked, “I was offered numerous roles and loved every moment. At my age, creators seem unable to write anything for us. I had many wonderful opportunities. I went ahead with several projects, but then what happened? Suddenly, the films I had eagerly agreed to vanished. I inquired with my manager about their status, as I was thrilled about those great roles.”
“So, what transpired? All the major film producers suddenly stepped in, attracted by the financial prospects of younger actors. The smaller budget OTT film producers, who used to share scripts with me, were left astonished. Nonetheless, I still have opportunities,” she added.
