De Minaur becomes the third player in 2025 to reach the 50-win milestone, alongside Carlos Alcaraz (67 wins) and Taylor Fritz (50 wins). He leads the tour with a remarkable 37 victories on hard courts, according to ATP statistics.

“This achievement reflects my consistency, which I take great pride in,” De Minaur commented after reaching this milestone. “I’ve shown up week after week, and I’m thrilled to hit such a significant number. I’m aiming for more wins to close out the year, not just stopping at 50.”

In 2024, the Australian’s best season ended with 47 wins and two titles. After winning the trophy at the ATP 500 event in Washington this August, the 26-year-old is now on the hunt for his second title of the year in Shanghai, where he will face either Daniil Medvedev or NextGenATP star Learner Tien.

“My trip to Asia has been fruitful so far. I knew it would require significant mental effort to compete here this week. I’m delighted to have reached the quarter-finals and to provide myself with another chance,” he added.

De Minaur entered Shanghai following a semifinal performance in Beijing, further boosting his chances of qualifying for the ATP Finals. Currently, he holds the seventh position in the ATP Live Race To Turin, maintaining a 740-point lead over Felix Auger-Aliassime, who sits just outside the Top 8 due to Jack Draper being sidelined for the remainder of the year due to injury, as reported by ATP.

Earlier, Arthur Rinderknech triumphed over Jiri Lehecka with a score of 6-3, 7-6(5), securing his first Masters 1000 quarterfinal. The Frenchman joined his cousin Valentin Vacherot in the last eight.

Post-victory, Rinderknech sent his support to qualifier Vacherot, who made history as the first Monegasque player to reach a tour-level quarterfinal.
