Los Angeles, Nov 1 (NationPress) Inspired by her 1998 romantic comedy film, actress Nicole Kidman infused “just a little bit” of “Practical Magic” into her 2025 Halloween festivities.
Kidman took to Instagram, sharing a collection of nature-themed tarot cards.
"Just a little #PracticalMagic for your Halloween," the Practical Magic star wrote in her post, hinting at the anticipated sequel to the 1998 film.
The tarot cards displayed intricate illustrations of an oak tree, an acorn, a bowl of salt, the sun, and various flowers, captured beautifully amidst lavender bushes and daisies.
The final slide featured two cards on a candlelit table, accompanied by a sketch pad showcasing draft illustrations alongside pressed flowers, as reported by people.com.
“Practical Magic” is a romantic fantasy film adapted from Alice Hoffman's 1995 novel. Directed by Griffin Dunne, it stars Sandra Bullock, Nicole Kidman, Dianne Wiest, Stockard Channing, and Aidan Quinn. Bullock and Kidman portray sisters Sally and Gillian Owens, who hail from a lineage of witches.
Kidman is set to reprise her role as Gillian Owens in the sequel to this Halloween classic. Both Stockard Channing and Dianne Wiest will return as the quirky aunts of Sally and Gillian.
Channing will once more embody Frances "Franny" Owens, the more pragmatic of the two, while Wiest is back as the gentle, whimsical Bridget "Jet" Owens, according to an official release.
New faces joining the cast for the sequel include Joey King as Sally's daughter, along with Lee Pace, Maisie Williams, Xolo Mariduena, and Solly McLeod.
Earlier this year, the team behind Practical Magic 2, now under the direction of Susanne Bier, expressed excitement: “Twenty-five years ago, Sally, Gillian, Aunt Jet, and Aunt Franny flew off the pages of Alice Hoffman’s beloved novel and into theaters worldwide. We are thrilled to bring the Owens family back to the big screen, with Joey, Lee, Maisie, Solly, and Xolo joining the next chapter of our story.”
