Mumbai, Nov 1 (NationPress) The chief of Maharashtra's BJP, Ravindra Chavan, has accused the state's opposition parties of fabricating a “false narrative” in the lead-up to local and civic elections, claiming they are making baseless allegations about vote theft and the existence of duplicate and bogus voters.
Chavan criticized the opposition for staging a ‘Morcha’ (march) in Mumbai, asserting that their true aim is to target the BJP rather than the Election Commission.
He emphasized that the state government, led by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, is committed to a development agenda and is prepared to respond effectively to the opposition in the upcoming elections.
“In a democratic society, everyone is entitled to protest. This is why the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) is uniting and organizing a morcha with the focus on the forthcoming local and civic body elections. Each election period, the MVA allies and various opposition parties, along with numerous NGOs, train people on how to fabricate a false narrative,” Chavan alleged.
He further claimed that during the Lok Sabha elections, some international NGOs were attempting to disseminate “false” narratives to disrupt the nation’s stability and law and order.
Chavan stated that such narratives have historically led the MVA to create misunderstandings within society. “We have ample examples of this,” he remarked.
“Who are the individuals operating within these NGOs? The financial backing they receive has now become widely known,” he added.
According to Chavan, under PM Modi's leadership and the MahaYuti government, the state is focused on a development agenda aimed at delivering justice to all sectors.
“Despite a significant crisis affecting farmers, this government has consistently supported Maharashtra's farmers,” he asserted.
The BJP chief also mentioned that certain factions are attempting to create divisions based on caste and religion within the state.
“The current societal structure must remain intact. The MahaYuti government has worked diligently to ensure justice for both the Maratha and OBC communities. This time, the MVA has no option but to engage in creating a new narrative through today’s morcha,” he concluded.
