Mumbai, January 19 (NationPress) Producer Nidhi Dutta, daughter of J. P. Dutta, is anticipating the release of her film ‘Border 2’ and has explained the absence of actress Tabu in the sequel.
During a promotional interview with IANS, Nidhi revealed that ‘Border 2’ focuses on a different conflict than the 1971 Indo-Pakistani war, specifically not the Longewala battle, resulting in only a select few actors returning from the original film.
“Sunny Deol is not reprising the role of Kuldeep Singh Chandpuri in this film. It’s clear from the promotional materials that the character played by him in the first movie is different. Hence, his wife will also be portrayed by a different actress,” she stated.
She further mentioned that the project was entrusted to them as a moral obligation by the late CDS General Bipin Rawat.
“This is a responsibility, not just an idea. General Bipin Rawat had summoned my father and me to Delhi a few years back, where he shared stories about 22 courageous heroes, with 3 or 4 represented in this film. He wanted these tales of our soldiers and martyrs to reach the public. Tragically, we lost him in a helicopter crash, making this film not just a dream for my father and me but also for the late General Rawat. After his demise, I pondered on the direction for the next JP Films, and from those 22 stories, I created a script for four of them. Thus, Border 2 has come to life,” she concluded.
