Chennai, April 17 (NationPress) The acclaimed actor Nivin Pauly, who stars in director B. Unnikrishnan's gripping political thriller 'Prathichaya', has officially revealed that the film will be available for streaming on OTT platforms starting April 24.

Nivin Pauly shared the announcement on his social media, stating, "Power. Politics. Image. Prathichaya will be streaming from April 24 on JioHotstar. #Prathichaya #JioHotstar."

The film has generated buzz among audiences and critics alike since the release of its intense trailer.

The trailer opens with Nivin Pauly's voiceover, posing thought-provoking questions: "You are all eager to hear about my success story. But am I truly successful? Success can often be measured by one's title or salary. But is that the whole truth? Were Gandhiji, Nehru, EMS, and AKG considered successful? Or were they failures?" As this voiceover unfolds, images of protests, political speeches, and various politicians flash on the screen.

Shortly after, Nivin Pauly is depicted addressing numerous delegates. The visuals suggest that he embodies a political strategist deeply embedded in a politician's think tank. He articulates the complexities of politics, explaining, "Cabinet formation is a web of equations. Caste, religion, powerful alliances—our positions hinge on these very dynamics. Icons are created and dismantled based on market needs."

It becomes clear that Nivin Pauly's character also grapples with corruption. A politician acknowledges him, saying, "You are a corrupting force." Nivin's character retorts, "Like you are free from corruption?"

The trailer further hints at a narrative centered around the relentless pursuit of power. One politician expresses concern, stating, "Rumors suggest I might be ousted from my position today."

However, the film juxtaposes this with characters who embody integrity. One character asserts, "If you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear. The true world lies within us, not beyond."

Additionally, the trailer reveals a woman intent on recording a 164 statement in court, hinting at a clash of powerful intellects within the quest for dominance. A striking line in the trailer encapsulates the essence of the film: "There are no individuals in politics, only images."

Alongside Nivin Pauly, the film, which premiered in theaters on March 26, also features Sharf U Dheen and Balachandra Menon in significant roles.

Written and directed by Unnikrishnan B, the film is produced by Gokulam Gopalan and Rd Illuminations LLP.

From a technical perspective, the film boasts cinematography by Chandru Selvaraj, a score by Justin Varghese, editing by Manoj, and production design by Shajie Naduvil. Aji Kutiyani leads the art direction, with Shaji Padoor as co-director.
