The loss of Bagheera comes at an already challenging time for NTR Jr. The actor was discharged from KIMS Hospitals, Secunderabad, on 13 August after undergoing arthroscopic surgery to address a shoulder injury sustained on 27 July during the shoot of his upcoming film Dragon. His team had initially announced that he was advised complete rest for six to eight weeks.

According to a health bulletin issued by KIMS Hospitals, the procedure was successfully performed by orthopaedic surgeons R. A. Purnachandra Tejswi and Nithin Bejjanki. Bhaskar Rao, Chairman and Managing Director of KIMS Hospitals, wished the actor a speedy recovery. Doctors anticipate a full recovery within two to three months.

Following his discharge, NTR Jr. is set to begin a structured rehabilitation programme under medical supervision. The hospital had noted that arthroscopic surgery was recommended after close consultation with specialists, as it would facilitate a quicker and more complete recovery compared to other options.
