Mumbai, May 20 (NationPress) Renowned Bollywood actor Anupam Kher recently uploaded a video featuring celebrated South African director Oliver Schmitz reflecting on his forthcoming film “Tanvi The Great”, which made its global debut at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival.
Schmitz expressed that he was “deeply moved” by the film, highlighting its significant themes surrounding human nature and the issue of exclusion.
Anupam shared the video on Instagram, showcasing Schmitz's thoughts on “Tanvi The Great”.
In his remarks, the South African filmmaker stated: “As a director, I have had four films selected at the festival, and this premiere stands out as one of the most extraordinary and poignant experiences I have encountered.”

Schmitz’s notable work Mapantsula was featured in the Un Certain Regard section of the 1988 Cannes Film Festival. His film Life, Above All, screened in the same section during the 2010 festival, was also the South African contender for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 83rd Academy Awards, making it to the shortlist of nominations announced in January 2011.
