Mumbai, Dec 7 (NationPress) Playback singer Papon, renowned for ‘Bulleya’, ‘Jiyein Kyun’, and ‘Moh Moh Ke Dhaage’, is marking two decades in the music industry. The artist is hailed as one of India’s most soulful voices, commencing his journey with Assamese regional music.
Throughout his career, Papon has captivated audiences with his distinctive fusion of folk, classical, and contemporary styles, gaining recognition as one of the nation’s most versatile and emotionally impactful artists.
His Bollywood debut came in 2011 with the song ‘Jiyein Kyun’, composed by Pritam Chakraborty.
Reflecting on his career, Papon shared with IANS, “Reaching 20 years in the music industry feels surreal; it’s been a journey filled with passion, learning, and remarkable collaborations. My introduction to Hindi film music with ‘Jiyein Kyun’ was a pivotal moment, and working with Pritam da allowed me to explore my voice and emotions in unprecedented ways.”
Papon has seamlessly navigated various genres and languages over his two-decade journey, exhibiting the rare talent of making each language he sings in uniquely his own. Achieving this balance of vocal strength and impeccable enunciation in every language while performing is a skill that only a select few artists master.
