Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra has publicly backed Katrina Kaif after Kaif was targeted by online trolls over her postpartum body, calling the scrutiny 'uneducated and bizarre' and describing a woman's post-pregnancy physical changes as 'beautiful evidence' of superhuman strength. Chopra made the remarks on 22 September 2026 in Mumbai's BKC area during promotions for her upcoming OTT debut, 'Shaque: Trust No One', alongside co-stars Tahir Raj Bhasin and Soni Razdan.

Parineeti's Stand on Postpartum Trolling

Speaking at the promotional event, Chopra was unequivocal in her defence of postpartum women. 'I find it uneducated and bizarre. I just find it absolutely bizarre. I find it bizarre that especially postpartum women are even discussed,' she said. 'If a woman has produced a baby and there is some evidence of that on her body, why is it negative? It's a sign of superhuman strength. Isn't that beautiful evidence?'

She extended the argument with an analogy: 'You go to the Maldives and you have tanned skin, that's evidence of you being in the Maldives. You go to the gym and you have abs, that's evidence of you working out in the gym... So why is producing a human being for nine months, giving you the necessary changes in your body that were required to make that baby a healthy baby, why is that discussed? And even if it's discussed, why is it negative?'

On Her Own Approach to Online Criticism

Chopra also addressed how she personally handles trolling directed at herself, revealing a policy of deliberate disengagement. 'I don't deal with it because actually, I don't even look at it... I'm just too true to my life. I'm just true to my time, my family, my friends, and my own life. I really couldn't be bothered about unknown people talking about me,' she said, adding, 'I have no time for this nonsense.'

She emphasised that she rarely encounters such content directly, given limited time spent on social media platforms.

Katrina Kaif, who gave birth earlier this year, has been on the receiving end of social media commentary about her physical appearance — a pattern critics argue reflects a broader, gendered double standard in how public figures are treated after pregnancy.
