Has Prince Narula Changed His View on Reality Show Romance?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Mumbai, Jan 26 (NationPress) Reality television personality Prince Narula, who discovered his soulmate Yuvika Chaudhary during the ninth season of “Bigg Boss”, believes that the nature of romance in reality shows has shifted significantly. He asserts that it has become more of a tactic than a sincere feeling, with numerous contestants leveraging relationships to gain an advantage in the competition.
In a conversation with IANS regarding his participation in the forthcoming reality series “The 50” alongside his wife Yuvika, Prince expressed his views on the current state of love on reality TV. He noted, “Many participants view relationships as a means to enhance their chances of survival and fame.”
“What we see now is that the romance portrayed in reality shows is often inauthentic,” he remarked.
He elaborated, “Contestants form bonds during the show, yet once they leave, they commonly part ways. They perceive it as a simple way to progress in the show. Even during my earlier appearances, particularly at the start, this was a prevalent mindset as it seemed to align with how the industry operated.”
Prince is adamant that true love can still be found on these platforms.
He cited examples such as Aly Goni and Jasmin Bhasin, who met on a reality show, and Suyyash Rai and Kishwer Merchant, who later married.
“I discovered love on a reality show. Aly and Jasmine also connected through a show. Suyyash and Kishwer eventually tied the knot; there are indeed instances of genuine love blossoming in this environment,” he added.
As he prepares for The 50, does he fear that his emotional connection with Yuvika could hinder his competitive edge?
“Having my wife alongside me on the show is a source of strength. I won’t be preoccupied with external judgments or opinions. I prefer to adapt naturally,” he stated.
“Anyone who approaches me kindly will receive my unwavering loyalty; those who stir conflict will find themselves shown the door.”
Prince is often viewed as assertive and instinct-driven.
When asked if Yuvika has ever urged him to reconsider his strategies or soften his approach during a competition, he replied, “That has never been the case; she has faith in me. I understand my game plan clearly: if something appears amiss, I think like a viewer, engage, and take a stand. I avoid meddling in others' affairs. She trusts my judgment, knowing my past successes.”
The actor and reality star proudly stated that he has already claimed victory in “Bigg Boss 9” with Yuvika.
“I always enter a competition aiming to perform well, not merely to win. I’m not omnipotent; I can’t triumph in everything. However, I strive to invest my utmost effort to succeed, and this time will be no different as I aim to give my best for my fans.”
Produced by Banijay Asia, The 50 is set to be India’s next major reality show, streaming soon on JioHotstar and Colors. This series promises a groundbreaking format that aims to redefine the Indian reality TV landscape.
