Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Mumbai, Jan 14 (NationPress) Actor Pulkit Samrat will soon appear as Ketu in his upcoming comedy film, "Rahu Ketu", which is set to hit theaters on January 16.
In preparation for his character, Pulkit took the time to master the techniques of the bo staff.
In a recent social media update, the 'Fukrey' star shared how his initial training with the martial arts weapon evolved into a passion.
Pulkit revealed that he dedicated time to watch instructional videos, practice with the bo staff in his hotel room, and refine his choreography at every chance.
He shared a clip on Instagram showcasing his skills, stating, "When I initially learned that Ketu would engage in combat with a bo staff, I had no clue how deeply I would come to appreciate this art form. What began as a straightforward requirement for action turned into an obsession! I spent hours watching videos, practicing in my hotel room, and rehearsing choreography whenever possible."
Pulkit emphasized that by the time they filmed the scene, the bo staff felt less like a mere prop and more like an extension of his character Ketu.
"Those fleeting seconds on screen encapsulate weeks of hard work, bruises, and immense passion. That’s the beauty of acting; each role imparts new lessons. I'm thankful for this experience! <3 #RahuKetu in Cinemas This Friday," he remarked.
In response to his post, Pulkit's partner, Kriti Kharbanda, commented, "As someone who’s seen you hit yourself countless times with that stick, I’m incredibly proud of your progress."
For those unfamiliar, the bo staff is a traditional weapon used in Okinawan martial arts, commonly referred to as the "long stick". It originated in Okinawa, Japan, and is a key element in various martial arts disciplines like Bujinkan and Kobudō.
