Actress Raiza Wilson is set to make her genre debut with the upcoming horror science-fiction supernatural fantasy thriller 'Nova', directed by Milo, which is confirmed to arrive in theatres in September 2025. The announcement was made on Wednesday, 26 August, when the director took to his Instagram page to share a striking poster carrying the tagline: 'In theatres from September.'

Sharing the poster on Instagram, director Milo wrote: 'She didn't come looking for this world… This world was never ready for her arrival. Sivagami — The Arrival.' The post marks the first official theatrical window confirmation for a film that has been keenly anticipated since production wrapped in the forests of Marayoor, Kerala.

Raiza Wilson on the Demanding Shoot

Speaking about her experience on the film, Raiza Wilson — best known for her breakout performance in 'Pyaar Prema Kaadhal' — described the shoot as unlike anything she had previously encountered. 'The film is structured like a story within a story. I play an important character that appears in the flashback portions,' she said.

The actress revealed that the production team filmed extensively inside sandalwood forests in Marayoor, where securing permissions alone posed a significant challenge. 'There were many challenges — blood-sucking leeches, constant mist and rain, the intimidating sounds of wild animals, and muddy, slippery paths. Before going there, I thought the shoot would be quite easy. I had no idea it would be so demanding. I have never faced such difficulties in any of my previous films,' Wilson said, adding that the team nonetheless completed the shoot on schedule.

'The movie combines elements of action, thriller, and science-fiction. I have never acted in a story or role like this before, which is exactly why I was drawn to it,' said Raiza Wilson. Her action sequences were choreographed by stunt master Vimal Rambo, and Wilson noted that prior fight training she had undergone for her film 'Mr. X' proved useful during the physically demanding forest shoots.

Wilson also praised first-time feature director Milo for maintaining a positive atmosphere on set. 'It is remarkable that he chose such a complex story for his very first feature film. It takes a lot of courage,' she said.

Beyond Wilson, 'Nova' features an ensemble that includes Dhruva of 'Aanmai Thavarael', Adviti Shetty, Bengali actress Krithika Biswas, Malayalam actor Joe John Chacko, Sendrayan, and YouTube personalities Finally Swathika and Finally Krishna.
