Chennai, Feb 3 (NationPress) The legendary Rajinikanth welcomed sanitation worker Padma to his home on Tuesday, bestowing upon her a gold chain in recognition of her exemplary dedication and altruistic spirit.

Images capturing the moment of Rajinikanth honoring the commendable sanitation worker have recently gained traction across social media platforms.

For those unfamiliar, Padma, while performing her duties in T Nagar, discovered an unattended pouch on the road earlier this month. Inside this pouch were 45 sovereigns of gold jewelry. Displaying remarkable integrity, she promptly alerted her superiors and returned the pouch, which was subsequently handed to the Pondy Bazaar police. Following an investigation, the police successfully reunited the valuables with their rightful owner.

Padma's virtuous act has garnered widespread admiration from many circles. Notably, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin honored her with a cheque of Rs One lakh.

Rajinikanth met with Padma to express his gratitude for her integrity.

It’s worth noting that just a few days prior, Rajinikanth had presented another gold chain to a devoted fan from Madurai. This fan was recognized for operating a restaurant where he sells parottas at the low price of Rs five each, aimed at aiding the underprivileged.

Close associates of the actor shared photos of this encounter with his fan, Rajini Sekar, accompanied by family members, as well as an image of Rajinikanth gifting the gold chain.

On the cinematic front, Rajinikanth is immersed in the production of 'Jailer 2' under the direction of Nelson. He also confirmed that filming for another project with director Cibi Chakravarthy will commence in April.

Earlier this month, during the Pongal festival, Rajinikanth engaged with fans outside his residence and was questioned regarding the much-anticipated film with Cibi Chakravarthy, being produced by Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Films International. In his response, Rajinikanth shared, "Shooting is set to begin in April this year. Expect a true commercial entertainer."

The announcement of this film has sparked excitement, especially following Kamal Haasan's declaration that his production house, Raaj Kamal Films International (RKFI), would be behind the project, tentatively titled #Thalaivar173.

It’s important to remember that the film was initially set to be directed by one of Tamil cinema's acclaimed directors, Sundar C, who had described it as a potential magnum opus. However, he later withdrew from the project, leaving many astonished.

Following Sundar C's exit, the filmmakers announced in the new year that Cibi Chakravarthy would take the helm. The film's soundtrack, featuring the tagline 'Every family has a hero', will be composed by Anirudh.
