Chennai, May 22 (NationPress) The legendary Rajinikanth has revealed that the production of his highly anticipated film, 'Jailer 2', directed by Nelson, is expected to extend through December of this year.
While interacting with media personnel as he exited the Chennai airport on Thursday, Rajinikanth mentioned, "The shooting for Jailer 2 is moving forward smoothly. It will likely conclude by December."
Jailer 2 has generated immense excitement, largely due to the remarkable success of its predecessor, which became a massive hit, grossing approximately Rs 650 crores.
The filming for the sequel commenced in Chennai, with Sun Pictures, the studio behind this action-packed film, announcing the start on March 10 this year.
Public interest surged when Sun Pictures unveiled an engaging teaser that combined both humor and thrill.
Shortly thereafter, actress Ramya Krishnan shared a post celebrating her first day on set for the sequel, located in Attapaadi, Kerala.
She remarked, "26 years since Padayappa, and it's the first day of shooting for Jailer 2."
In the film, Ramya Krishnan portrays Vijaya Pandian, affectionately called Viji, who is the wife of Rajinikanth's character, Muthuvel Pandian.
Reports suggest that actress Mirnaa, who plays Swetha Pandian, Rajinikanth’s daughter-in-law, will also have a significant role in the sequel.
Additionally, Kannada superstar Dr. Shiva Rajkumar and Malayalam star Mohanlal are anticipated to join the cast of Jailer 2, although official confirmation is still pending.
