Mumbai, Feb 21 (NationPress) Imtiaz Ali's critically acclaimed road drama "Highway" has marked its 11th anniversary since its release. Reflecting on this milestone, Randeep Hooda expressed a sense of nostalgia and appreciation for the film.

On this special occasion, Randeep Hooda shared his thoughts on the profound emotional resonance of "Highway" and its lasting significance in his life. He mentioned, "Highway is a timeless classic because it’s a journey, a love story that is tragically affected by the class divide in our society. While Veera's innocence drives her desire for love, Mahabir grapples with the harsh realities, ultimately succumbing to his fate. This film was pivotal for me, allowing me to truly 'live the part', and I am deeply thankful to Imtiaz for that experience. Mahabir’s essence still resonates within me."

Randeep further remarked, "During that period, my mindset was quite somber. I experienced more off-screen than what was portrayed. Over the years, I have been striving to bring more authenticity to my performances while minimizing the emotional burden in my real life."

Both Randeep Hooda and Alia Bhatt garnered significant acclaim for their compelling performances in Imtiaz Ali's direction.

The film narrates the journey of a girl who finds liberation after being abducted just before her wedding.

Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, "Highway" was released in theaters on February 21, 2014.

Looking ahead, Randeep Hooda is currently involved in the film "Jaat", directed by Gopichand Malineni. This project features an ensemble cast including Sunny Deol, Vineet Kumar Singh, Saiyami Kher, and Regina Cassandra. The action sequences are choreographed by Anal Arasu, alongside Ram Laxman and Venkat.
