Rashmika Mandanna Marks the Commencement of a 'Remarkable' December with the First Anniversary of 'Animal'

Mumbai, Dec 1 (NationPress) Actress Rashmika Mandanna, eagerly anticipating the release of her upcoming film starring Allu Arjun, 'Pushpa 2: The Rule', is celebrating the first anniversary of her film 'Animal' this December, a month she describes as 'very special'.

On Sunday, the actress took to her Instagram Stories to share a Reel created by one of her fans, highlighting her character Geethanjali from the Ranbir Kapoor-led movie 'Animal'.

She expressed her feelings on the video, stating, 'December has indeed been very very special to me. So grateful. Swami swami swami. Thank you Thank you Thank'.

'Animal', featuring Ranbir in the leading role, explores the deep relationship between a father and son marked by blood ties. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga of 'Kabir Singh' fame, the film was a major blockbuster, inciting mixed reactions over its depiction and treatment of women. It created significant buzz and overshadowed the Vicky Kaushal-starring biopic 'Sam Bahadur', which focused on the Indian war hero Sam Manekshaw.

Prior to this, 'Pushpa: The Rise', which catapulted Rashmika to fame across India, was also released in December. Debuting during the peak of the third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, the film excelled at the box office, even with theatres across India being closed.

It outperformed 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' and completely eclipsed the Ranveer Singh-led sports biopic '83', continuing to draw audiences for two months, thanks to its entertainment value, performances, and hit soundtrack. It also reignited the passion for pan-India films, a movement initially sparked by the 'Baahubali' franchise.

This December, the sequel 'Pushpa: The Rule' is set for release on December 5, coinciding with the swearing-in ceremony of the state's Chief Minister in the entertainment capital of the country.
