Chennai, Nov 21 (NationPress) The creators of the Malayalam film 'Kalamkaval', helmed by director Jithin K Jose and starring Malayalam superstar Mammootty alongside Vinayakan, have officially announced a delay in the film's release.

The initial release date, set for November 27 of this year, has now been pushed back.

Via their X account, Mammootty Kampany, the production house representing Mammootty, stated, "Delayed, NOT Diminished. We hear you... The wait is noted. This decision has left many fans disappointed, as they were eagerly anticipating its debut.

The film has already been approved by the Censor Board with a U/A certificate. Notably, Mammootty had previously confirmed this, declaring, "#Kalamkaval Censored with U/A 16+ Certificate. In Cinemas Soon."

The teaser has generated significant buzz among enthusiasts since its release, which showcases a gripping narrative.

The teaser opens with a door being knocked on; a Tamilian answers, asking, "Who are you?" Subsequently, a police officer questions another officer, whose identity is concealed, asking, "Are you the one who's Nath?" The visuals then shift between the two leads — Vinayakan, portraying a police officer with a serious demeanor, and Mammootty, who appears composed and observant.

This film marks the seventh production of Mammootty Kampany, bearing the tagline, "The venom beneath."

Earlier in the year, the second look poster of Mammootty was unveiled, with Mammootty Kampany commenting, "Some Faces Raise Questions… Not Answers...Presenting The Second Look Poster of #Kalamkaval Directed by Jithin K Jose."

Having completed filming in November of the previous year, 'Kalamkaval' features a story and screenplay by Jithin K Jose and Jishnu Sreekumar, editing by Praveen Prabhakar, and cinematography by Faisal Ali. The music is composed by the talented Mujeeb Majeed, with action sequences choreographed by Action Santhosh.

The project has sparked considerable interest, with claims that Mammootty will portray a character unlike any he has played before. Industry whispers suggest he may embody a role with complex moral shades, although this remains unconfirmed.
