Mumbai, June 21 (NationPress) Actor Rohan Gurbaxani is set to appear in the eagerly anticipated romantic film "Metro... In Dino".
In a candid conversation with IANS, Gurbaxani shared his thoughts on collaborating with acclaimed actors like Pankaj Tripathi and Konkona Sen Sharma.
He described the on-screen presence of both actors as "magical", emphasizing that when working alongside such seasoned performers, the focus shifts from competition to contribution.
Gurbaxani remarked, "I concentrate on how I can enhance the scene and respond to the energy they provide. This interaction is the essence of acting—it lies in the reactions. Both Pankaj ji and Konkona ji deliver performances so genuine that it often transcends mere acting and feels like real life. It’s truly magical."
Discussing his role in "Metro… In Dino", he explained, "I portray a painter residing in Goa who showcases and sells his artwork. The narrative unfolds in Goa, and I share the screen with Pankaj ji and Konkona ji. However, you’ll need to watch the film on July 4 for further insights."
When questioned about any creative limitations while working with director Anurag Basu, Gurbaxani responded, "On the contrary, it’s quite liberating. He doesn't provide a script in advance, so you must fully trust his methodology. He places you in scenarios that challenge you while also eliciting your best performance."
"I wouldn't categorize it as restrictive—he allows total creative liberty. He presents your lines on the same day, which may seem intimidating, but it effectively hones your instincts and reinforces your belief in your own impulses," he added.
Touching on his upcoming projects, Gurbaxani stated, "I can't disclose much at this moment, but there is something in progress. Once it's official, we’ll discuss it in detail."
Featuring actors such as Aditya Roy Kapur, Pankaj Tripathi, Sara Ali Khan, Neena Gupta, Konkona Sen Sharma, Anupam Kher, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Ali Fazal, and Saswata Chatterjee in pivotal roles, "Metro... In Dino" is slated for a theatrical release on July 4.
