Chennai, Aug 8 (NationPress) The creators of the highly anticipated film, 'Kantara: Chapter 1', directed by Rishab Shetty, have unveiled the first look of actress Rukmini Vasanth, who depicts the character of 'Kanakavathi' in this upcoming film, a prequel to the blockbuster 'Kantara'.

The production company, Hombale Films, shared the first look on their X timeline, stating, "Introducing @rukmini_vasanth as ‘KANAKAVATHI’ from the world of #KantaraChapter1. In Cinemas #KantaraChapter1onOct2."

Previously, on July 21 of this year, the team announced that filming had concluded, along with a video showcasing the captivating making of the film.

The making video highlighted the immense effort invested by both the crew and Rishab Shetty. He revealed that the film was shot over three years, involving thousands of contributors, and emphasized that Kantara: Chapter 1 is more than a film; it embodies a divine force.

In the glimpse video, Rishab Shetty expressed, "I have a dream. To tell the story of my land to the whole world. Our village. Our people. Our beliefs. When I chose to pursue that dream, thousands stood with me. Three years of hard work. Two hundred and fifty days of shoots. Regardless of the obstacles I faced, faith never abandoned me. He confirmed that while filming has concluded, this marks the beginning of a new chapter.

For those unaware, Kantara was a pan-Indian blockbuster featuring Rishab Shetty in a dual role, alongside Sapthami Gowda, Kishore, and Achyuth Kumar. The storyline centers on a Kambala champion in conflict with a principled forest officer.

This film received wide acclaim from industry veterans, including Tamil superstar Rajinikanth, who personally congratulated the team for creating what he termed a 'masterpiece'.

'Kantara: Chapter 1', the prequel to the acclaimed film, is set during the era of the Kadambas of Banavasi. It has been written and directed by Rishab Shetty and produced by Vijay Kiragandur under Hombale Films.

The movie stars Rishab and Jayaram in lead roles. Filming for this action-packed project commenced in November 2023, with the first look and teaser scheduled for release on November 27. Sources indicate that Rishab Shetty will portray a Naga Sadhu with superhuman abilities in the film. 'Kantara: Chapter 1' is set for release on October 2, 2025, coinciding with Gandhi Jayanti.
