On March 28 in Mumbai (NationPress), renowned television actress Rupali Ganguly reminisced about a memorable childhood incident where she and her brother, Vijay Ganguly, faced a reprimand from the late legendary actor Rishi Kapoor during their trip to Vaishno Devi.

In her YouTube vlog, Rupali shared, ‘As we were ascending to the temple on horses, Rishi sir was making his way down. He caught sight of us and exclaimed, “Why are you lazy children riding? Dismount and walk! Today’s kids are just too lazy.”

“We were utterly terrified,” she recalled with a chuckle.

The actress also mentioned that this visit was during the filming of her father’s project.

“On our second visit, Papa was busy filming ‘Pyaar Ke Kabil’. All arrangements were graciously made by Shri Gulshan Kumar ji.

Continuing her story, Rupali noted, “The film featured Rishi Kapoor ji, Padmini Kolhapure ji, Utpal Dutt, an exceptionally talented actor, and Bindu aunty. The climax was filmed here, spanning over six to seven days. We enjoyed meals at the langar downstairs. Rishi sir consistently walked up to the Vaishno Devi temple, never once opting for a horse or palki.”

Rupali expressed the emotional connection she has with the place. “I visited again in 2000 with my husband, Ashwin, and ever since, Mata Rani has been summoning me annually. I always say, 'Mahakaal and Mata Rani are my second homes.'
