Mumbai, Aug 31 (NationPress) The talented Bollywood actress Saiee Manjrekar is reflecting on her cherished childhood memories. In a recent conversation with IANS, she fondly recalled her vibrant Ganpati festivities.
When asked about her most treasured moments from the Ganeshotsav, she shared, “There are numerous memories. We have Zanje at home, which is a traditional instrument used during aarti to maintain rhythm. In our household, we have around 8-9 cousins, but only 5 Zanje. This led to many playful battles over who would get to use them. Those who missed out had to clap instead, which often resulted in spirited squabbles.”
Saiee expressed her eagerness for the annual 10-day Ganeshotsav celebration, mentioning that the delectable festival food is one of her favorite aspects.
She stated, “I think I look forward to those 10 days of Ganesh Chaturthi more than anything else in the year. My entire family gathers, and there’s always a joyful buzz in the house, with laughter and delicious food. I truly relish it. The Aarti time is particularly fun, and I've cherished the memories of Ganesh Chaturthi since childhood.”
In a previous interview, Saiee, the daughter of renowned actor, director, and writer Mahesh Manjrekar, mentioned that while her father has always served as a source of inspiration, he has never been a shortcut to her success.
Saiee reflected, “My father has always been my greatest inspiration, but he never offered me an easy path. I remember a candid conversation we had when I first expressed my desire to act. He told me, ‘If you want to be an actor, that choice must come from you. I will never use my connections to pave the way for you.’”
Initially, she admitted feeling “daunted” by this advice. “But now, I realize how crucial that lesson was. I learned to embrace rejection, audition alongside unfamiliar faces, stand in line like everyone else, and earn every opportunity based on my talent. It has made me value each role significantly more,” she concluded.
