Mumbai, June 16 (NationPress) Sajid Nadiadwala's latest cinematic venture, “Housefull 5”, featuring an impressive lineup including Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, and Abhishek Bachchan, has clearly established itself as a box office triumph.
With a production expenditure of Rs. 225 crore and an extra Rs. 15 crore allocated for prints and promotion, the film's overall financial outlay reached Rs. 240 crore. Through a clever combination of box office success and non-theatrical earnings, it has achieved profitability.
Before its release, the film had already secured Rs. 175 crore through strategic partnerships, including Rs. 90 crore from OTT rights, Rs. 55 crore from satellite rights, and Rs. 30 crore from music rights.
This means the film only needed to generate Rs. 65 crore from its theatrical run. Currently, it has grossed over Rs. 227.7 crore, significantly exceeding the breakeven threshold of Rs. 150 crore necessary for profitability.
“Housefull 5” features a stellar cast that includes Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Dino Morea, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sonam Bajwa, Nagis Fakri, Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Nana Patekar, Chitrangada Singh, Fardeen Khan, Chunky Pandey, Johnny Lever, Shreyas Talpade, Ranjeet, Soundarya Sharma, Nikitin Dheer, and Akashdeep Sabir.
Directed by Tarun Mansukhani, the film made its theatrical debut on June 6 featuring two climaxes. It is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under his banner, Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment.
The original “Housefull” hit theaters in 2010, followed by the second installment in 2012. The first two films were helmed by Sajid Khan. Housefull 3, directed by Sajid-Farhad, was released in 2016, and the fourth installment came out in 2019, directed by Farhad Samji.
