Mumbai, Nov 13 (NationPress) Celebrated choreographer and actor Sandip Soparrkar recently shared insights into his enduring connection with the Dharmendra family.
In a revealing discussion with IANS, Sandip expressed how dear the Dharmendra family is to him. He noted that Esha Deol is one of his students, and he has been performing alongside the family for nearly a decade. When reflecting on his close relationship with them, he praised Dharmendra as a person with a “golden heart” and expressed his hope to see him back at rehearsals and pujas soon.
“Indeed. The family of Dharmendra ji holds a special place in my heart. Esha is my student, and I’ve had the privilege of performing with them for almost ten years — I portray Shiva, and she embodies Ganga. I sincerely wish for Dharam ji’s swift recovery. He’s an incredible man with a golden heart, and I eagerly anticipate his return to our rehearsals and pujas,” stated Sandip Soparrkar.
Dharmendra was released from the hospital on November 12. Following his discharge, Sunny Deol’s team released a statement confirming that the esteemed actor would continue his recovery at home and requested the public and media to respect the family’s privacy during this period.
On another note, Sandip Soparrkar is set to make his debut in the upcoming Kannada film ‘Koragajja’. Speaking about his character, the Indian-Latin choreographer-actor revealed, “In Koragajja, I portray a Daiva named Guliga Deva — a fierce deity known for his aggressive nature. He is reputed to consume chicken and is characterized by his high energy. I felt truly honored when Sudhir sir offered me this role, as it’s unlike anything I’ve done before. This is my first Kannada film; although I’ve worked in various languages, this experience feels exceptionally special.”
“Engaging in a project that is so rich in culture and tradition is an incredible honor. While filming the song, I encountered some profound spiritual moments — there were instances where I genuinely felt the deity's presence in my dance. Even though I’m not a follower of Guliga, I prayed to him before performing, asking for his blessings to do justice to this role. I hope the audience can sense the dedication and effort we have invested in this project.”
‘Koragajja,’ produced by Druthi Creations and Success Films, features a talented cast including Kabir Bedi, Sandip Soparrkar, and prominent South Indian actors Shruti, Bhavya, and Naveen Padil.
