Mumbai, Oct 2 (NationPress) Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt delivered a heartfelt message commemorating the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh as it marks its centenary. On Thursday, he utilized his X account, previously known as Twitter, to share a video where he expressed his thoughts about the organization.
He stated, “Namaskar. This Vijaya Dashami signifies 100 years of the RSS. Throughout every challenge, the Sangh has remained committed to nationhood and nation building. Swayamsevaks have made significant contributions across various sectors and have been at the forefront during times of crisis.”
“The RSS continues to strive for constructive social transformation. On this momentous occasion, let us unite in the cause of nation building. I extend my congratulations to the RSS for reaching this milestone. Jai Hind. Jai Bharat,” he added.
The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), a Hindu nationalist volunteer organization, was established in 1925 in Nagpur by Keshav Baliram Hedgewar. It operates as a paramilitary-style cadre organization, hosting daily meet-ups known as shakhas where members partake in physical training, discussions, and drills. Its influence surged after India's independence.
The RSS has played a pivotal role in shaping the ideology of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), its political extension through the Jana Sangh, and wields influence over a network of affiliated groups collectively referred to as the Sangh Parivar, which includes student unions, labor organizations, and cultural associations. As of the 2020s, the RSS boasts millions of members both domestically and internationally.
Earlier, Sanjay Dutt sought divine blessings at the Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain. Videos captured the actor in the temple's Nandi Hall on Thursday morning, receiving blessings while witnessing the Bhasma Aarti.
Upon visiting the temple, Sanjay expressed, “It is my good fortune that Baba Mahakal brought me here. I have been trying to visit for years.”
The actor shared that he has “felt divine energy firsthand.” “May Baba Mahakal’s blessings always remain,” he concluded.
