Mumbai, Nov 16 (NationPress) The late actress Kamini Kaushal had a deep passion for puppetry. She was known for crafting puppets with intricate details.

A newly resurfaced video features the late actress discussing her love for puppetry and its impact on her artistry.

In the clip, she shared, “Engaging in puppetry allows for an extension of oneself, as you imbue your essence into the puppet. I traveled to London for about 15-20 days solely to attend a workshop. I expressed, ‘Before I dive in, I must visit this wonderful puppet center in London. It’s a necessity for me.’ My husband questioned my sanity, asking, ‘What do you intend to accomplish?’ I insisted, ‘I must go, it’s essential for me.’”

When inquired about the year of this adventure, she mentioned, “It must have been in the 80s. I feel incredibly fortunate because I possess a genuine desire to create. I haven’t encountered many hardships. I recall approaching a gentleman, the I&B secretary, whom I had never met before. I boldly asked him, ‘I wish to produce programs for children. Can you assist me?’ He listened and engaged in a meaningful discussion.”

Kamini Kaushal holds the distinction of being one of India’s oldest surviving film actresses, passing away at the age of 98 in Mumbai recently. Reports indicate that she had been facing age-related health issues. A family friend noted that her loved ones prefer to maintain their privacy during this challenging time. In addition to her film career, she made significant contributions to television, most notably through the Doordarshan program ‘Chand Sitare’.

The illustrious actress collaborated with some of the most celebrated stars in Indian cinema, including Dilip Kumar, Raj Kapoor, Dev Anand, and Ashok Kumar. Her on-screen pairing with Dilip Kumar was met with widespread acclaim.
