Sargun, who runs her own production company, Dreamiyata, shared insights on what differentiates “Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan”: it’s not only the poignant storyline but also the extraordinary scale and complexity of its characters.

With almost 35 characters meticulously cast over a duration of six months, this endeavor has proven to be one of the most demanding yet rewarding experiences for her as a producer. Sargun expressed that this project holds a special place in her heart, both as a producer and a storyteller.

She emphasized that every character, whether major or minor, has been crafted with equal affection and significance, giving the show an authentic and vibrant feel. Sargun Mehta, head of Dreamiyata, remarked, “There are few shows on television that allow viewers to encounter a diverse array of characters, each with their distinct stories and depth. We take immense pride in how this show is woven from multiple viewpoints, creating a rich, layered experience. Casting 35 characters was the toughest challenge we’ve faced, taking around six months, but we found the ideal actor for each role, including the smallest ones.”

She continued, “The goal is for the entire world of the show to come to life, not just the lead characters. I have a deep fondness for several actors, and every time I watch their scenes, it brings a smile to my face. I eagerly anticipate whether the audience will share the same sentiment. “Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan” is based on Zed Kannada’s celebrated “Puttakana Makkalu”. The series follows the emotional journey of Ganga Mai, a mother abandoned by her husband for not bearing a son, who decides to raise her three daughters with strength, dignity, and grace, all set against the soulful backdrop of Varanasi. The show honors the resilience of women and the unbreakable bond between a mother and her daughters.
