Mumbai, Feb 26 (NationPress) Actress Sayali Salunkhe, who will portray Mata Anjana in the upcoming mythological series "Veer Hanuman," has shared her thoughts regarding her initial reluctance to accept the role. In an open dialogue with IANS, Sayali expressed that playing a mythological character was a wholly unfamiliar venture for her, which contributed to her initial doubts. Nonetheless, she quickly recognized it as an exhilarating challenge and a chance to broaden her horizons. Salunkhe stated, “I am taking on the role of Mata Anjana in this show. If I can genuinely capture the essence of this character, it will be a fulfilling journey for me. Since I had never undertaken a mythological role before, it was an entirely new experience. I was hesitant at first, but I embraced it as a challenge—an opportunity to step beyond my comfort zone and explore something unique.”

When questioned about her worries related to being typecast in mythological roles, Sayali admitted that it is a prevalent issue in the industry. “Indeed, typecasting occurs. Audiences form strong connections with such characters, often believing in them beyond the screen. I hope my representation of Anjana Mata resonates with viewers similarly. I aspire for this character to touch the hearts and homes of the audience. While I have yet to experience the type of devotion where individuals genuinely begin to see an actor as the deity they embody, if that happens, I will consider it a privilege,” the actress shared.

Sayali Salunkhe also discussed the hurdles she encountered while preparing for her role. Addressing the physical transformation, including makeup and wardrobe, she recognized that it was indeed a challenging undertaking.

“Yes, it requires time. The costume, the appearance—everything demands patience. However, once you get used to it, you begin to appreciate the journey. Initially, it can be daunting, but over time, it becomes second nature,” Sayali affirmed.

On February 20, the eagerly awaited mythological drama "Veer Hanuman" was launched in Ujjain with a groundbreaking 3D holographic sky projection at Shri Ram Ghat.

The show is set to debut on March 11 on Sony SAB.
