To provide some background, Shefali previously married television actor Harsh Chhaya from 1994 until their divorce in 2000. She later married director Vipul Amrutlal Shah in December 2000 and is now a proud mother of two sons, Aryaman and Maurya.

Recently, Shefali shared a poignant memory from a past Christmas that deeply affected her faith in magic and innocence. She recounted, "That Christmas Eve remains vividly imprinted in my memory. At around 12 or 13 years old, a contrary uncle told me, ‘You don’t actually believe in Santa, do you? It’s just your parents leaving gifts for you.’ This revelation shattered my innocent heart. I argued fiercely to prove him wrong, desperately clinging to the belief that Santa was real. The emotional turmoil was profound; it felt as though a part of me had been severed from my heart. I tried to hold onto that fragile belief, but it burst like a balloon."

She continued, "With the departure of Santa, the child within me also faded. However, when I became a mother, the enchantment of stories and magic returned. Yes, we became the Santas, but we revived the gifts of innocence and endless possibilities. I endeavored to keep that magical world alive for as long as possible, but eventually, my children outgrew it,” shared the 'Jalsa' actress.
