Production house Raaj Kamal Films International — the banner of veteran actor and parliamentarian Kamal Haasan — had marked the start of the second schedule with a video clip on social media, writing: 'The deadly doctor. #Dharman Schedule 2 Begins, and this one's legendary. #KettaPaiyanSir.' The clip showed Rajinikanth on set with director Ashwath Marimuthu.

Excitement around Dharman has been building since the project was first announced. In June this year, the makers released a making video detailing how the creative team arrived at Rajinikanth's distinctive look for the film. Director Ashwath Marimuthu subsequently shared a new poster on his X (formerly Twitter) timeline, writing: 'We heard you !! Ithan hair styleu!! Ithan looku! Sexy work @kabilanchelliah.'

The film's title poster — released at the time of the announcement — depicted Rajinikanth in an operation theatre, holding a scalpel, with one leg placed over a slain antagonist, signalling the film's blend of medical drama and action.
