Mumbai, July 3 (NationPress) Actress Shriyam Bhagnani, preparing for the upcoming romantic drama ‘Aap Jaisa Koi’, has expressed her admiration for her co-star Ayesha Raza and their unique on-screen bond. In this film, Shriyam portrays Ayesha’s daughter.
Reflecting on their relationship, Shriyam revealed that she felt an instant connection with Ayesha from their first day in Mumbai.
She stated, “Ayesha exudes a warmth and energy that captivates you right away. Portraying her daughter felt authentic, transcending mere script. While she is a senior actress whom I greatly respect, she has always treated me as an equal, never making me feel like just a newcomer. Such kindness is rare, and I will always cherish it. We had so much fun on set; she’s spontaneous, extraordinarily witty, and immensely generous.”
Shriyam continued, “Every scene with her was vibrant. Between takes, we discussed various topics, shared meals, and even enjoyed outings on our days off for shopping or photoshoots. Off-camera, we formed a close-knit group with Ritu Chaudhry Seth, Anubha Fatehpuria ma’am, and other cast members, always filled with laughter! This comfort and ease translated directly into our performances, and I believe the audience will feel that connection too.”
Ayesha Raza reminisced about their first encounter on the sets of ‘Aap Jaisa Koi’, noting that they were strangers before that.
She commented, “It's always a pleasure to work with younger actors; they inject a refreshing energy into the atmosphere. Shriyam was clear, enthusiastic, and genuinely dedicated to her role. She understood her character deeply and had a strong vision for her performance. After filming, we spent significant time together, fostering a true friendship. She has inspired me and even acted as a mentor, encouraging me to take more photos and engage on Instagram! I truly admire her for being so open, genuine, and fearless in expressing herself.”
Directed by Dharmatic Entertainment, ‘Aap Jaisa Koi’ also features R Madhavan and Fatima Sana Shaikh in principal roles and is set to premiere on Netflix starting July 11, 2025.
Shriyam is also working on the biopic ‘Sumo Didi’, which has already garnered international recognition at film festivals and recently completed its final schedule in Japan.
Shriyam remarked, “‘Sumo Didi’ was the most physically and emotionally challenging role I’ve undertaken. I trained extensively to embody Hetal’s strength and transformation.”
“Her journey is remarkable, defying stereotypes in a male-dominated sport with quiet determination,” she added.
