Mumbai, May 15 (NationPress) Actress Shruti Haasan shared her experiences regarding the pre-performance jitters she feels before taking the stage and her journey toward conquering them.
Reflecting on her path, the actress admitted that while the pre-show anxiety still exists, it has transformed into a motivating force that fuels her enthusiasm and commitment. When questioned about her nervousness prior to performances, Shruti told IANS, “I used to feel extremely anxious before performing. Like, really, really nervous. Now, with time, I’m much more composed, but I still experience that excited, uneasy sensation in my stomach. However, I believe that this nervousness before a performance is beneficial as it drives me. I dedicate ample time to practice.”
“I think my band sometimes gets frustrated because I always request more rehearsals. I genuinely enjoy rehearsing with everyone and want to practice as much as possible when it comes to music. In terms of acting, I prefer not to rehearse excessively, but I’m quite open to over-rehearsing for music.”
The 'Ramaiya Vastavaiya' star also shared details about her musical journey, stating that her favorite songs to perform live include her originals, “Wash Me Away” and “Bury Me.” She conveyed a profound emotional connection to these pieces and emphasized the challenge of performing them live, which enhances her enjoyment on stage.
When discussing her favorite singer, Shruti expressed that she doesn’t have just one. Instead, she appreciates a diverse range of voices across various genres, from Indian classical to rock and roll, valuing both male and female artists.
Haasan remarked, “I don’t have a singular favorite singer. I admire a spectrum of voices, many Indian classical voices, as well as rock and roll voices, both male and female. So, no, I don’t have a specific name.”
On the professional front, Shruti Haasan is all set to appear alongside superstar Rajinikanth in the highly anticipated movie “Coolie,” scheduled for a worldwide release on August 14.
