Music director Siddhu Kumar is reportedly in talks to compose the soundtrack for director Yuvaraj Chinnasamy's upcoming Tamil romantic entertainer 'Haiku', according to industry sources. The film stars Aegan, Femina George, and Sridevi Apalla in the lead roles. No official confirmation has been issued by the production house as of yet.

Change in Music Direction

The makers had originally announced Vijay Bulganin as the film's music director. Industry insiders now claim that Siddhu Kumar has been brought on board in his place, though the production team has yet to make a formal statement on the development.

Shoot Progress and Release Target

Filming on 'Haiku' is well underway. As of March this year, the unit was in its third schedule, having previously filmed in Idukki, Coimbatore, and Chennai. A song sequence was shot over two days and two nights on an elaborate set designed to resemble a bachelor boarding house. Actor Aegan had said at the time: 'A huge set was erected for this song. The set's theme was a boarding place where a lot of bachelors who are looking for work come to stay. We shot the song over a period of two days and two nights. We have now completed shooting the song.' He had added that the unit had completed roughly 40 to 45 per cent of the film's shoot, with three more schedules remaining, and expressed intent to release the film in September this year.

Pre-Production Highlights

Notably, 'Haiku' is reportedly the first Tamil film whose OTT rights were acquired by a major streaming platform even before cameras began rolling — an unusual commercial milestone for a mid-scale production. Sources close to the unit also revealed that a 30-day acting rehearsal was conducted for the entire cast under the guidance of trainer Rajesh, who is known for his work on critically acclaimed films such as 'Madharasi' and 'Chittha'.

Cast and Crew

The film is produced by Dr. D. Arulanandhu and Mathewo Arulanandhu under the banner Vision Cinema House. Additional screenplay is credited to Hari Haran Ram, who previously directed the acclaimed Tamil film 'Joe'. On the technical side, cinematography is handled by Priyesh GuruSwamy and editing by Sakthi Pranesh. Aegan is best known for his role in 'Kozhipannai Chelladurai', while Femina George and Sridevi Apalla are recognised for their work in 'Minnal Murali' and 'Court' respectively.

With a high-profile OTT deal already in place and a September release window in sight, all eyes will be on the official music director announcement to see whether the reported change is confirmed.
